Shakiso emeralds originate in the tree-clad hills of southern Ethiopia, having been discovered near the town of Shakiso only recently in 2016. 

Ethiopian emeralds are known for their vibrant green color, which can range from a bright, grassy green to a bluish-green hue. This color is a key factor in determining their value and desirability.
Many Ethiopian emeralds are admired for their fascinating inclusions, such as the presence of three-phase inclusions, and may contain mica and blocky fluid inclusions which attract collectors and gem enthusiasts
